August 2010

EDITORIAL

Here's some news from the Longtze fleet and from a summer that has started in fine form.  In June, the student crew from Centrale Lyon-GFC Construction took out the Longtze Student Cup at la Grande Motte, after four fiercely contested events. The first season was a resounding success for this new student circuit and it will definitely race again in 2011, but will also be further developed with new stages, more boats and new crews.

From the 31st July to the 5th August, seven Longtze were for the first time at the start line in England for "Cowes Week", one of the most prestigious regattas in the world which every year brings together more than 8500 sailors and 10,000 spectators.

The first weekend in September will see the Longtze European Tour fleet sail on Garda Lake  in Italy for the Gorla Cup, before wrapping it all up in Switzerland in October for the 2010 Tour finale.

Not only are there the big races, there are also the training weekends at Le Havre in September, trials at La Rochelle as previously for those wishing to come and try out the boat, as well as the great program that will be set up from September by Franck Citeau, at the Mediterranean training centre at la Grande Motte. They will be there in all their colours, something for all tastes: owners, students, amateurs, anyone who loves sailing. Don't hesitate to contact us, to come and try the boat, to join us to go sailing and to discuss your ideas.  You are most welcome !

Looking forward to seeing you, have a great summer!
